POINT-7; the new windsurfing sail brand to come out of Europe is all about determination and passion when developing its products. This enthusiasm has helped the brand to be well recognised around the global windsurfing scene. The brand is presenting a full sail range, enough to satisfy any windsurfing discipline and level.
When Point-7 in 2007 wanted to test the performance of their race sail the AC-1, it was taken straight to both the national and international racing scene, winning several Championship titles, including the first leg of the ISA SPEED WORLD CUP in Karpathos. On top of this, with their Slalom no cam sail the AC-0 they won the Italian Slalom Championships in 2006, against the other competitors who where using fully cambered slalom sails! Now entering their second year on the market, POINT-7 has had their first sail from the 2008 range tested by the German Surf Magazine: the sail tested was the Runner, a Freeride sail, which ended out to be the winner in its category.
When POINT-7 is developing their sails, they are using 2 important locations; the island of Sardinia during the winter period, to test the sails in absolute extreme conditions. Summer is spent at Lake Garda in Italy to complete the range of use and also to test for durability. The development later continues on the race courses to bring the latest technology and performance to the products. All sizes are tested before they are cleared for production.
The sign of recognition when seeing a POINT-7 sail is the special black metalized monofilm they are using in all their sail lines. This special material, which is produced in the United States, offers a great feature. The black coating added to the material totally blocks the suns damaging UV-rays, making sure that the sails won't "cook" in the sun and therefore securing that the largest part of the sail will last longer than a normal transparent monofilm sail!POINT-7 offers a great service with their www.p7squad.com website. This site includes a featured Forum, where it is possible to discuss the technicalities of Point-7 equipment with other users and the Pro-riders of POINT-7.
Further there is information on trim and tuning of the sails and help with other technical aspects of windsurfing.
Point-7 International will over the next weeks announce the names of their official dealers in Greece.
