Steve Thorp is now the fastest windsurfer in the world. The British sailor has set a new world speed windsurfing record by reaching the 50.48 knots, at West Kirby, England, on the 3rd January 2012.

Thorp wore two GPS units that delivered different results. The first one peaked at 54 knots and the other one at 50.48 knots. After a careful review gpsspeedsurfing.com confirmed the second record, which was enough to take the lead.

Με αφορμή το αυξανόμενο ενδιαφέρον γύρω από πολλά θέματα του windsurfing, με πρωτοβουλία του και μετά από παρότρυνση πολλών windsurfers, η 3S boards & skis magazine & events (www.3Smagazine.gr) και το www.windsurfing.gr αποφάσισαν να διοργανώσουν εκπαιδευτική ημερίδα.

Η ημερίδα θα περιλαμβάνει σεμινάρια και ανοικτή συζήτηση πάνω σε θέματα που αφορούν τους windsurfers όλων των επιπέδων, ανεξαρτήτου ηλικίας ή φύλου.

Ειδικοί ομιλητές θα καλύψουν θέματα όπως: ασφάλεια, κώδικα θαλάσσιας κυκλοφορίας, κανονισμοί I.SA.F., επιλογές εξοπλισμού, συμμετοχή σε events, κλάσεις και κατηγορίες, τελευταίες εξελίξεις και βέβαια όποια άλλα ερωτήματα και θέματα σας απασχολούν.

Sigri - strong winds, traditional lifestyle and an amazing freestyle spot

If you look at the pictures of the freestyle spot, close to the little traditional village of Sigri, in Lesvos, Greece you start to wonder why this area hasn't already got the status of the next freestyle-windsurfing paradise.

The Sigri Surf-center, where the EFPT event from the 10th-12th of August 2012 will take place, is located in a beautiful bay, which delivers perfect flat water conditions. Sailing further outside, small chop allows big air moves and the chance for all pro-riders to show their new school maneuvers on a higher level.

JP and NP proudly announce that the 2011 PWA Freestyle World Champion has signed two year agreements with both brands. Steven made this decision after carefully testing the freestyle boards and sails of JP and NP. During this process he also got to know Werner Gnigler (JP Board Shaper) and Robert Stroj (NeilPryde Sail Designer) and their way of working.
